What is Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)?

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy is as defined by PsychologyToday:
Cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) is a form of psychotherapy that treats problems and boosts happiness by modifying dysfunctional emotions, behaviors, and thoughts. Unlike traditional Freudian psychoanalysis, which probes childhood wounds to get at the root causes of conflict, CBT focuses on solutions, encouraging patients to challenge distorted cognitions and change destructive patterns of behavior.

What is Mindfulness?

The most widely used definition of mindfulness comes from Jon Kabat-Zinn: "Mindfulness means paying attention in a particular way: on purpose, in the present moment, and nonjudgmentally.".

Why YOGA? Talk therapy can help support the MIND, Yoga helps integrate the MIND & the BODY and therefore is the most efficient way in HEALING mental health and trauma. Everyone can do yoga! I teach to meet your unique needs. A few of the options I use: Chair Yoga, Restorative Yoga (basically like lying on pillows), Biofeedback and Breath Work.

What is Self Care?

Conscious and continual, love and attention for yourself. The constant repetition of habits that soothe you emotionally, physically and mentally.
